THE GUARDS OF THE DARK WOODS

From the shadows came a swarm of blue birds.  These were the guards of the woods, stationed to make sure woozles never make it into the kingdom.  Nothing was permitted to leave or enter without their notice.  The travelers were surrounded by the flying army who took to a circle formation around them.  Soon, one wearing a red helmet flew down to a nearby branch and addressed Tigger.  "It's a little late to go traveling into the woods."  We need passage, one of our own has been taken." Tigger stated in a rush.  "Impossible, nothing leaves or enters without my knowledge."  The bluebird puffed up his chest.  "Well then someone isn't doing there job, the prince was taken."  There was a roar in Tigger's voice that caused all the birds to move back.  The bird with the helmet fluttered his wings clumsily.  "I..I see.  I'll be sure to check my ranks.  until then order and security must be kept."  The bird stood waiting, looking at Tigger.  Tigger took a breath and moved away from the helmeted leader.  "Request passage away from the land of Milk and Honey" Tigger said calmly.  With these words, the birds moved away and allowed the travelers passage into the woods.

The edge of the woods

The walk to the forest was long and tiresome.  Clover offered for Tigger to ride her friend #PoohBear the rest of the way, but he walked in silence.  Taking notice of his determination, she decided to continue on her feet as well. When the travelers reached the forest it was well into the night.  The mysterious sounds from the woods echoed in the dark and nearly mocked them with false hints of nearby trouble.  They didn't get far before #Tigger stopped and rose his hands to signal them to stop.  "What's wrong?" Clover asked.  "Quiet" Tigger responded in a low whisper.  At this, the archer #Piglet readied his bow.  "Nobody move" Tigger continued.  "We're being watched by many eyes."

The Patchwork Campaign is almost done

As the last few hours wrap up, I want to thank all of you that supported the Patchwork Girl book series! This campaign was better than I expected it to be and I'm excited to get the book moving!  Now it's time to start gathering rewards to send out and promoting the book once it's printed.

Off to save the Prince

Being the only one to travel to woozle territory and survive, Tigger volunteered for a solo mission to save the prince.  However, on the insistence of Kanga, Clover and her small band of heroes joined his journey.  Stories of Clover and her friends had traveled well.  They were known as helpful warriors who could hold their own in battle.  Having them join her most valuable guard eased Kanga's mind, so reluctantly Tigger agreed.  As they left the castle Tigger left the stone road and moved through the thick grassy hills.  "The stone path may be faster."  Clover suggested.  "A simple stroll through a grassy meadow on a cool evening is one of the pleasures in life."  He responded.  Clover looked to the grass and took a deep breath, trying to see the pleasure Tigger saw.  "Enjoy it now." He continued.  "For we may not return from this journey."
